Teacher & Director Profiles
Ms. Teresa began teaching the Transition Program in 2003. She holds a Master’s degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University and a BFA in Dance Performance from Stephens College. She began her career teaching first and second grade in 1991. She has also had courses in Conscious Discipline, Brain Gym, Handwriting Without Tears, Occupational Therapy and Pyramid Training.
Over the past 17 years as an educator Teacher Kimmy has developed a philosophy of learning that kids learn best when they are truly engaged in active learning opportunities. Her belief in child-oriented, child-directed experiences led her to LUMP. She has a distinct passion for age-appropriate early literacy and has worked as a Public Library Children’s Specialist and an Elementary School Teacher Librarian. She graduated cum laude with a major in Elementary Education.
Jenelle started teaching her four and three year old classes at LUMP in 2013. She received her bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education from the University of Montana. She has also earned a Master’s of Curriculum and Instruction from Colorado Christian University. In 2000, Jenelle began her teaching career teaching sixth grade language arts at Bear Creek Elementary. Jenelle’s previous ECE experience includes the Montessori philosophy and Tools of the Mind curriculum. Jenelle is grateful to be part of a play based community, supporting and celebrating the whole child.
Ms. Megan has been caring for and creating with children for over 15 years. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from the San Francisco Art Institute and has taught kids of all ages from preschool to middle school. She believes that all children should be given the opportunity to have their imaginations sparked by art and find inspiration in the creative process. Preschool is her favorite age to teach.
Kim has been in education for 20 years. She began at LUMP as a parent, taught in the classroom for nine years and now teaches music classes at LUMP and is the director. She has an elementary education degree from the University of Wyoming, an early childhood certificate from Red Rocks Community College and is a certified Music Together teacher. It is a joy for her to be at LUMP, watching children grow and learn through play.
